Safety and contact

If you need help right now
If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number now: 999 or 112 in the UK, 112 across Europe, 911 in the US and Canada.
If you're struggling and want to talk to someone, free and confidential helplines are there for you, day and night.
- Anywhere in the world: findahelpline.com finds a helpline in your country.
- UK and Ireland: Samaritans, call 116 123 or visit samaritans.org.
LetFlyAway can be a place to let things go, but it can't send help. We don't know who anyone is, so we can't contact a writer or call someone for them.
How reporting works
- Open the letter or reply, and tap the small flag.
- Pick a reason: sexual content, threats or danger, hateful, an ad or spam, tries to share contact details, this person needs help, or something else. You can add a short note if you like.
- Tap Send report.
The letter flies away and you will never see letters from that writer again. If it was a reply to your letter, it's hidden at once and that person can't reach you again. Nobody is told it was you, or that they were reported.
Before anything opens, you'll see its tags. A letter with a warning (heavy, dark, sensitive, swearing, or mentioning self-harm) waits for you to tap Open it, so you're never surprised by something you didn't choose.
What happens after a report
- Reports are counted against how many people opened a letter. When enough of its readers report it, it is hidden from everyone at once, before anyone has looked at it.
- The developer reviews reported letters and replies, the most serious first, and decides: let it fly again, remove it, or remove it and ban the writer's account and device.
- For "this person needs help", the letter is looked at too. We can't reach the writer, but a letter that puts someone in danger is taken down, and where the law requires it or someone may be at risk, we tell the authorities.
- We don't tell you the outcome in the app, because reports are anonymous both ways. If you emailed us, we reply to your email.
What happens before anything flies
Every letter and reply is checked automatically before anyone sees it. Letters with contact details, sexual content, threats or hate are never delivered. If someone writes about hurting themselves, the app shows them where to find help first. Known child sexual abuse images are blocked and the account and device are banned.
Contact us
Email hsk.coder@gmail.com for anything: reporting something you can't report in the app, a complaint about a decision we made (such as a letter that was blocked or an account that was banned), a privacy request, or a question.
It helps to tell us what happened, roughly when, and what the letter said, since we can't see your screen. A real person reads every message. We aim to reply within 7 days, sooner for anything about someone's safety. Complaints are handled as our terms describe, and privacy requests as our privacy policy describes.
Police and other authorities can use the same address. Because LetFlyAway is anonymous by design, we hold very little that could identify anyone (see the privacy policy).
