LetFlyAway

Terms of use

Last updated 5 November 2026.

These terms are the agreement between you and the developer of LetFlyAway ("we", "us"), an individual in the United Kingdom. By using LetFlyAway you agree to them. They sit alongside Apple's standard licence terms for apps from the App Store. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data.

The short version

What LetFlyAway is

LetFlyAway lets you write a letter (text, and with Pro also voice, video or photos), let it fly away, and have it land with a stranger somewhere in the world. Each reader can send one reply, and a reply can't be answered. There are no profiles and no chat, and it is not a dating app. Letters are translated automatically, so translations may not be perfect.

A letter can't be unsent, edited or deleted once it has flown. It flies for 30 days. You can delete everything you sent by deleting your account.

LetFlyAway is a place to let things go. It is not therapy, medical advice or a crisis service. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number; our safety page lists places to find help.

Who can use it

The rules

Letters and replies must not contain:

And please be kind. Many people write about things that hurt. A reply is the only thing a stranger will ever hear back, so make it one you'd want to receive.

Also don't try to get around the checks, bans or limits, find out who someone is, collect letters in bulk, or interfere with how the app or our server works.

Staying anonymous

We don't know who you are, and readers never see anything about you except a broad hint of where a letter came from, such as "from somewhere far east". But we can't protect you from what you write yourself. Don't put anything in a letter, photo, voice note or video that could identify you or someone else: names, places, workplaces, faces or distinctive details. The app warns you about some of these; it can't catch them all.

Checks, removal and bans

Reports and complaints

LetFlyAway is a user-to-user service under the UK Online Safety Act. Here is how to tell us when something is wrong.

Report a letter or reply

Open it and tap the flag, pick a reason (including "this person needs help") and, if you like, add a short note. That letter goes away and you will never see that writer again. Nobody is told who reported. Reporting from the app is best, because it tells us exactly which letter you mean. Details are on the safety page.

Complain or ask us to look again

Email hsk.coder@gmail.com if you want to:

Please describe what happened and when, and what you'd like us to do. A real person reads every message. We aim to reply within 7 days, and sooner for anything about someone's safety. Because we don't know who you are, we may ask for details only the account holder would know, such as part of a letter you sent. We will tell you what we decided and why. Making a complaint never gets you banned.

Your words

What you write and record stays yours. So that LetFlyAway can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, check, translate and show your letters, replies and media to the readers they land with, and to keep them as the privacy policy describes. We use it only to run LetFlyAway, not for adverts, marketing or training AI models. The permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups until they are replaced.

You promise that you are allowed to send what you send, and that it follows these terms. Letters you receive are someone else's words: don't copy them out of the app or publish them.

What we can and can't promise

We work hard to keep LetFlyAway safe, kind and running. But it is made by one person, so we provide it as it is, and we can't promise that it will always be available, that every letter will be caught by someone, that every harmful letter will be stopped, or that translations will be perfect. Letters are written by strangers, and we are not responsible for what they say.

We are not responsible for losses that we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, you keep all your legal rights; these terms don't take any of them away.

Leaving, and changes

You can stop using LetFlyAway at any time and delete your account in the app (Settings, then Delete account). We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or stop offering LetFlyAway; if we stop it, we will tell you in the app in good time where we can.

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app about anything important before it takes effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can delete your account.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own courts. If you live in the EU, you keep the protection of the consumer laws of your own country.
